Up Holland Community Hub

Up Holland Community Hub is an initiative designed to develop the historic church building into a place to be used by, and to serve, the whole community of Up Holland and the surrounding area. The Hub is of the community and for the community and the development group has included people from church, parish council and community.

 

The plan is to retain and enhance the wonderful historical features of the church but also to make it a more modern venue for the wider community.

Significant changes have been made inside the church including

• removal of some pews at the back of church

• re-arrangement of side pews to include tables and Wifi access

• installation of a new kitchen and counter at the back of church

• purchase of café tables and chairs

• allocation of a space for a Post Office counter

• installation of new screen and sound system with surround sound for a cinema

 

The Post Office is now fully open please visit the Post Office page for opening times. It as been a tremendous success to date, seeing over eight times the predicted amount of customers than when first planned.

Becket's Cafe is also now fully open, serving high quality coffee and tea, lovely cakes and bacon rolls.

The Foodbank is fully operational and based at St Thomas The Martyr Primary School, as it is in the heart of our village, and where the most help is needed.

​

There are also many other activities both happening and planned, including:

• Cinema @ The Hub

• Concerts and performances

• Open Table free food Cafe @ The Hub

• Dementia Cafe 

• Baby and toddler group

• Arts and crafts groups

• Music groups

• Community Gardeners

• Bereavement Group

We now need volunteers! There is an urgent need for volunteers to help run the Post Office.
