Up Holland Community Hub

A place for everyone

Up Holland Community Hub is an initiative designed to develop the historic church building into a place to be used by, and to serve, the whole community of Up Holland and the surrounding area. The Hub is of the community and for the community and the development group has included people from church, parish council and community.

The plan is to retain and enhance the wonderful historical features of the church but also to make it a more modern venue for the wider community.

Significant changes have been made inside the church including

  • removal of some pews at the back of church

  • re-arrangement of side pews to include tables and Wifi access

  • installation of a new kitchen and counter at the back of church

  • purchase of café tables and chairs

  • allocation of a space for a Post Office counter

  • installation of new screen and sound system with surround sound for a cinema

The opening of the Post Office has been delayed due to the ongoing pandemic that we are in, as soon as we have a new opeing date we will publish it.

When COVID restrictions allow the aim is to provide other services and activities including

  • Becket’s café @ the Hub

  • Foodbank @ the Hub

  • Cinema

  • Concerts and performances

  • Open Table

  • Dementia Café

  • Baby and toddler group

  • Arts and crafts groups

  • Music groups

  • Community Gardening Group

The Hub Foodbank will be opening at St Thomas the Martyr School at the beginning of February.

We now need volunteers!  And we need customers for the Post Office!

There is an urgent need for volunteers to help run the Post Office, full training will be given.

If you are interested in helping with any activities or have other ideas of how you can help the Hub a success in serving the community please contact the Hub via Facebook or email us at info@uphollandcommunityhub.org.uk or alternatively click here and apply to become a Hub volunteer.
